Rituximab 500 mg injection is a monoclonal antibody primarily used to treat Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and rheumatoid arthritis.  It is also indicated for the management of several autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including granulomatosis with polyangiitis, microscopic polyangiitis, and pemphigus vulgaris. 

The medication works by targeting CD20-positive B cells, which are involved in the progression of these cancers and the inflammation associated with autoimmune disorders.  By binding to these cells, rituximab promotes their destruction, thereby reducing tumor growth and suppressing the immune system's abnormal response. Treatment is typically administered as an intravenous infusion under strict medical supervision, with dosages and frequencies determined by the specific condition being treated.
